A Warm Welcome to Whitchurch: Celebrating Our Live Well Vets Open Day

Live Well Vets Whitchurch opening day

Saturday 17th October 2026 | Live Well Vets Whitchurch, Cardiff

What a wonderful welcome to Whitchurch!
On Saturday 17th October, we opened the doors of our newest Live Well Vets practice, inviting the local community to meet our team and discover what goes on behind the scenes at their local independent veterinary practice.
We welcomed around 50 visitors throughout the morning, from familiar faces and existing clients to new neighbours, families and, of course, some very special four-legged guests!
It was a lovely opportunity to share our passion for animal care and introduce the people, facilities and technology behind Live Well Vets.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Veterinary Care

One of the highlights was seeing so many children exploring the practice with their parents.
From getting hands-on with our ultrasound equipment to discovering our operating theatres, X-ray facilities, dental suite, laboratory and separate dog and cat wards, there was plenty to explore.
It was wonderful to see so much curiosity and enthusiasm, with children asking questions and getting involved. Who knows, perhaps we even sparked an interest in a future career in healthcare, whether caring for animals or people!

A Special Visit from Cardiff North MP Anna McMorrin

We were also delighted to welcome Anna McMorrin, MP for Cardiff North, who kindly took the time to visit our practice and meet members of the team.
It was a pleasure to show Anna around and share our journey as a growing, independent veterinary group in South Wales.
We’re proud to be investing in local communities, creating employment opportunities and making high-quality veterinary care more accessible to pet owners across the region.

Modern Veterinary Facilities, Right on Your Doorstep

Our Whitchurch practice has been designed to provide comprehensive veterinary care for local cats and dogs, combining modern diagnostic technology with a friendly, compassionate approach.
Our facilities include:
  • Three consultation rooms and two operating theatres
  • Digital X-ray and ultrasound equipment
  • A dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray
  • A fully equipped in-house laboratory
  • Two preparation areas and separate dog and cat wards
Our in-house laboratory allows us to perform many routine blood tests on-site, providing quick access to results when they’re needed to guide treatment.
For pets requiring more advanced investigations or treatment, our wider Live Well Vets group offers additional expertise across our three South Wales practices, all within approximately 20 miles of one another.
These services include orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced soft tissue surgery, cardiology, endoscopy and advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT scanning at our Caerphilly practice.
It’s all part of our commitment to providing excellent veterinary care closer to home.

Independent Veterinary Care with Community at Its Heart

Although we’ve grown to three practices across South Wales, we’re proud to remain independent.
For us, great veterinary care is about more than equipment and facilities. It’s about the people behind them – our vets, veterinary nurses, receptionists and wider support team – and the relationships we build with our clients and their pets.
From the excitement of welcoming a new puppy to supporting families through more difficult moments, we believe excellent medicine and genuine compassion should always go hand in hand.

Thank You, Whitchurch!

To everyone who popped in, brought their children, introduced us to their pets or simply came to say hello – thank you!
It was lovely to see familiar faces alongside people meeting us for the first time.
We’ve received such a warm welcome since opening in July, and Saturday’s open day made us feel even more at home in Whitchurch.
We look forward to becoming part of the local community and caring for its much-loved pets for many years to come.
And if you couldn’t make it on Saturday, we’d still love to meet you!
