Compassionate support when it matters most

Compassionate End-of-Life Care for Pets

When your pet’s quality of life changes, deciding when to say goodbye can be incredibly difficult. Our team is here to talk through your concerns, answer your questions and support you with compassionate end-of-life care at every stage.

Helping You Make a Difficult Decision

If you are worried about your pet’s comfort or quality of life, please contact us. A vet can assess their condition, talk through the changes you have noticed and help you consider whether treatment, palliative care or euthanasia is the kindest next step.

If euthanasia is recommended, we will explain what will happen before the appointment and give you time to ask questions. We aim to keep the experience as calm and gentle as possible, with your pet’s comfort and your wishes at the centre of the conversation.

Our team has training in pet bereavement and can support you both before and after saying goodbye. We can also arrange a nurse consultation if you would like to talk through the process in advance or need support afterwards.

Talk Through Your Options

You do not need to make decisions alone. If you are unsure whether it may be time to say goodbye, our veterinary and nursing teams can talk through your pet’s quality of life, what to expect and the options available to you.

We will talk you through the appointment before anything happens and give you time to ask questions. The exact process can vary depending on your pet and their condition, but our priority is to keep them comfortable and make the experience as calm and gentle as possible.
Yes. You can contact your practice to talk through your concerns, and we can arrange a consultation to discuss your pet’s quality of life and the process before you make any decisions. Our nursing team can also offer support around pet bereavement.
