Hospital care when your pet needs extra support

Hospital Care for Pets in South Wales

If your pet is unwell, recovering from surgery or needs treatment that cannot be provided safely at home, they may need to stay with us for inpatient care. Our team will monitor them closely, give prescribed medication and fluids, and keep you updated on their progress.

Support and Monitoring While Your Pet Stays With Us

Occasionally, pets need to stay in the practice because they are particularly unwell, need intravenous fluids or require medicines and monitoring over a longer period.

While your pet is an inpatient, our veterinary and nursing teams will assess them regularly, administer prescribed treatment and adapt their care plan as needed. Depending on their condition, this may include blood tests, diagnostic imaging, fluid therapy, pain relief or nutritional support.

If your pet requires ongoing care or monitoring beyond our normal opening hours, we will arrange transfer to our dedicated out-of-hours provider. This allows them to continue receiving appropriate veterinary care and monitoring overnight, with the handover planned according to their individual needs.

When Your Pet Needs Additional Care

Depending on why your pet is staying with us, their care may involve diagnostic imaging, monitoring after surgery or treatment following an urgent illness. If they need more intensive overnight monitoring, we may recommend transfer to our dedicated out-of-hours provider.
